Helping Wounded and Active Duty Military Personnel in their Transition to becoming a Productive Veteran.

Welcome Home and Thank You for Your Service.

I want to welcome each and every one of you, to what is sure to be a great day that will last forever. Our mission with FOB Summit County Co is to gather American Warriors that are wounded and in active duty, to get them on a outdoor adventure with kind hearted civilian volunteers to interact in a setting that is healthy and healing for them. While your safety is always first in thought, I will always provide a medical professional, be it health, psychiatric or alternative therapy on hand. As part of our code of conduct on such events is with the golden rule: “treat others as you would want to be treated”.

Thank you again for all you have given to us and no matter what your injurires might be or even if you don't have a injury, you raised your right hand and to me that is good enough to join us up here on some outdoor adventures. I always say the hardest job in the military is being a spouce, so I would encourage all military spouce's to contact us for some much deserved R&R. Thank You and Much Respect to you ALL.

With All Respect,

Tom Torres U.S. Army Airborne (ret)

The Meaning Behind the Name of FOB Summit County Co

The meaning and reason for naming FOB Summit County Co came from the two current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan since the attack on 9/11 on American Soil.  Our brave men and women serving in the U.S. Military have established outposts that all branches of service operate out of, they are called FOB/Forward Operating Bases, which is where they conduct their missions for combat. A FOB is considered a safe zone or home base. It is known that if they can make it back to there FOB then they are 'home'. This is where they live for each deployment for at least a year.

The Summit County Colorado portion of the name originated from it being a 'personal and magical' healing spot for all of those who come up and take part in the outdoor adventures we provide. For those of us that live here in Colorado can acknowledge the personal beauty that sounds us, keeping in mind that many Veterans we bring up come from all over the United States. It allows them to experience other areas of the state and gets them out of their base life.

The name recognition was established in collaboration with a friend and fellow Army veteran MSG Jose Espinoza, U.S. Army Retired and myself, Tom Torres, U.S. Army Airborne.
